Wood fired stoneware fired in the 2nd chamber of a Japanese two chamber climbing kiln then soda sprayed to produce the sodium glaze at 1300 deg centigrade ( cone 10 -11)
Some of my early soda glazed work in Italy was gas fired in a single chamber climbing kiln I built for La meridiana ceramic school in 1999.
My first experience with salt and soda firing came, during my time on green island (see C.V ) 1988-90. Here we fired with kerosine, and sprayed salt, and sometimes sea water to glaze the pots. Living on an island, sometimes had it’s benefits .
